If you had told me ten years ago that I would not only be the CEO of an club that services young boys, but also be writing my own blog on my own website, I would have told you whoa sister, you need to go sniff that BS somewhere else. Which is understandable, since I had the poor self-esteem of a young child whose mother sold sex—and there ain’t no support group for that!
But I would have been incorrect. Because you are reading the words I am writing right now! And that makes me an official blogger!
So here I am...a few more wrinkles and a varicose vein or two...but also the life experience and street cred to really stimulate these boys interests and keep ‘em occupied.
I hope you explore the rest of the site, learn more about the colorful characters that litter our halls and discover what Sturdy Wings is all about.
And check back often to my blog - you might just find the things that come out of this ol’ pie chute will change your life as well!

It is hopeful that Sturdy Wings can take flight against opposing influences currently affecting our future. In Juvenile Probation we see an increasing rise in behavioral issues directly related to drugs. Our programs are limited due to funding. Nevertheless, we strive to roadmap our children by using Challenge Programs; ROPES and others, to influence change. However, it is all too common now where we also see young mothers who smoke pot with their kids. The challenge we face through Probation is returning our youth to the same environment with the same powerful influences. We are all to blame. As we allow to continue introducing more drug glorifying sit-coms and movies which place criminals as hero's we lose those young people to drive-by shootings, detention centers, and eventually prison or death by overdose. And we read about it, talk about it and forget about it like it is entertainment. Yes, we are all to blame. There are answers; solutions to these problems, but, they are abrupt and considered censoring by some, and Unconstitutional by others. If changes like these were implemented, and they should be, it would drag on longer than the OJ Simpson trial, bring caos to the media and make people stop, and really really think. What have we done?
